Seychelles Photo Locations

Mahé is an incredibly diverse island, offering everything from wild, dramatic beaches to calm coves, lush jungle backdrops and panoramic viewpoints. One of the biggest advantages of getting married on Mahé is the variety of stunning photo locations — often within a short drive of each other.

Here are some of my favourite spots for wedding and elopement photography on the island.

Anse Intendance

If you’re dreaming of dramatic, cinematic beach photos, Anse Intendance is hard to beat. It’s known for its powerful waves, wide open shoreline and incredible sense of scale.

This location works beautifully for:

  • Sunset portraits

  • Elopements

  • Bold, windswept beach images

It feels raw, natural and untouched — perfect for couples who want something striking and adventurous.

Port Launay

Port Launay is ideal if you’re looking for calm, postcard-perfect beach photos. The water here is often crystal clear and shallow, with gentle waves and soft sand.

It’s a great choice for:

  • Relaxed, romantic portraits

  • Morning or late-afternoon light

  • Couples who want that classic Seychelles look

The surrounding hills and greenery also give plenty of variety without needing to move far.

Anse Major

Anse Major is perfect for adventurous couples who don’t mind a short walk in exchange for something truly special. Accessible by boat or a scenic hiking trail, this beach feels secluded and intimate.

Best for:

  • Elopements

  • Quiet, private moments

  • Couples wanting a sense of escape

It’s one of those locations that feels like you’ve discovered your own secret corner of the island.

Beau Vallon

Beau Vallon is famous for its sunsets — and for good reason. As the sun drops behind the horizon, the sky often lights up with warm colours, making it perfect for evening portraits.

Ideal for:

  • Sunset and twilight photos

  • Relaxed beach walks

  • A mix of atmosphere and energy

It’s especially great if you’d like photos that feel lively yet romantic.

Mission Lodge

For something completely different, Mission Lodge offers sweeping views across the island and out to sea. Set high in the hills, it’s a stunning option for couples who want dramatic scenery without sand between their toes.

Perfect for:

  • Epic viewpoints

  • Cooler temperatures

  • A change of backdrop from the beach

It works beautifully as a short stop during your wedding day or as part of a post-wedding shoot.

Choosing the right location for you

Every couple is different — and the best photo location always depends on your wedding plans, timings, and what feels most you. I’ll help you choose locations that suit your day, the light, the weather, and the pace you want, so everything feels relaxed and effortless.

Whether you’re planning a beach elopement, a resort wedding, or a quiet post-ceremony shoot, Mahé offers endless possibilities — and I’ll make sure we choose the perfect spots to tell your story.
